Singapore Recipe : Satay

This Indonesia-originated meat dish is marinated with sate, turmeric, and lemongrass before being skewed and grilled on a charcoal stove (which helps to enhance the smoky taste). Ingredients:

  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 2 large garlic cloves, chopped
  • 3 stalks lemon grass, chopped
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • salt and black pepper to taste
